Credit Suisse Questions

Does anybody here work for CS?

I have a few questions about different groups/offices and their responsibilities. I know that people don't like to give away their banks here (which is understandable), but if you are feeling giving and you know a lot about CS would you message me?

Thanks in advance

In their alternative investments division, what would an analyst in "strategy and business developement" do exactly? Is alternative investments similar to IB? and what is competition like for these positions?

What are the Chicago/LA/SF office groups? Which are best in terms of education from experience?

What is a "buy sides insight" group?

Thanks a lot for any help.

Not at CS but experience in alternative investments at a BB.

Strategy and business development is probably self explanatory. What do you want to know?

Alternative investments are different than IB. It is in investment management, ie the buy-side. Which means the skills you develop/the work you do/the competitiveness to get in is extremely different with every group. I don't know CS' IM groups well, but it is likely extremely difficult to break into their PE/MB as an analyst, whereas the RE PE group would probably be similar to BB IB chances. They probably take on few analysts (a friend that worked in a similar group was 1 of 5 in the RE group), but there is less competition due to its relative obscurity.

Links and specifics could definitely give you some better answers. AI is very, very broad.
