GS Investing Groups? (PSI, PFI, etc.)
Have read all the past threads, but wondering if anyone has any new info on the current structure of the "investing" arm of GS (that's not explicitly rolled into the SSG) that resides in securities, but operates with informational barriers. For instance, what groups make it up beyond (PSI and PFI) given that some like GSRP have been spun out and/or sold off?

GS Internal Investing Groups (Originally Posted: 11/26/2017)
Does anyone have information on how GS's internal groups recruit? Particularly interested in PIA (which I understand is buyout), and GSPS (Long/Short?), or others that fall into the category of fundamental investing. Where in the cycle do they recruit, and how much of hiring is done internally?
Interested
They get a lot of folks directly from GS IBD - but also recruit externally.
Exit Opps for Goldman Investing Groups (Originally Posted: 02/03/2012)
I have offers from 3 Goldman investing groups: AssetCo, bank loan distressed investing, and high yield distressed investing. I also tried to get SSG but didn't get it. Which one will have the best exit opps do you guys think? Do you think that these will have the same, better, or worse exit opps than GS investment banking (assuming 2 years analyst at both)?
I thin you should reject them all and try for SSG again next year. It has sick exit ops like moelis and co
High Yield, isn't it where David Tepper came from?
How did you find out about not getting SSG? When did you have your interview?
I would personally go for HY Distressed Debt Investing, I imagine your exit opps would be to a distressed debt HF (which is basically what the group is)
GS Securities - Investing Groups (Originally Posted: 02/04/2012)
Anyone know what groups are within GS Securities' Investing side? I know SSG is thrown in there, but what are some other groups? Thanks.

they are SSG, high yield distressed investing, bank loans distressed investing, principal funding and investing (PFI), reinsurance group (GSRG) and global commodities principal investing (GCPI).
Although this year i think the the only groups having SA's will be SSG, PFI (probably through the rotational program) and GSRG.
