From X To IB

Well along with a lot of other people I've had a tough time getting an IB offer. I've been through maybe 10-12 interviews, 4 final rounds, 0 offers. I am still actively trying to land something but I had a question and wanted everyones opinion. Let's say I end up with 0 offers from IB which of the following paths could I take and either lateral into IB, or go for an MBA and get an associate level job.

PWM
Financial Advisor
Asset Management
Financial Analyst
Tax Associate but also helping in tax for M&A

Thanks for your opinions!

Except boutique wasnt one of his listed options... Asset management has a lot of very different groups in it. You have to be more specific. Its somewhat of a toss-up, though PWM is probably the least attractive. The others depend on which firm you are at.

haha, sorry to let you down guys with the XXX. The reason I did not mention boutique is because I'm just referring to NO IB offer from any sized bank.

I don't really have a specific for asset management but perhaps you could offer your response as to which "type" of asset management would be could.

Also if doing either of the above at a small firm still diminish your chances in IB after an MBA?

There are always a lot of people going from consulting to ibanking, and from ibanking to consulting. Maybe give some of the consulting firms a look, I am pretty sure the top shops are done hiring but maybe a place like Accenture or Deloitte are still looking for people.
