got data sources / stock screens? free ideally...
hey all,
I no longer have access to Bloomberg.
Is there a way to create screens and search for equities based on certain Value Investing criteria (such as cash + BV assets and real estate > market cap) ?
It would be nice to be able to find a free or reasonably priced tool so that I can keep running screens.
Have you folks found any?
earthwalker7, shame nobody has responded. Maybe one of these topics will help:
Hope that helps.
most screens suck outside of value line, but morningstar offers a decent product (if at a less than decent price), zack's is OK, magic formula is good but opaque and inflexible, finviz is meh, and the ben graham screeners out there usually are too cigar-butt oriented for me. most of the issues I've found with online screeners is they're just data aggregators so you're taking a 10-K/Q at face value and making no accounting adjustments. as a PWM guy, I don't have time to be a footnote reader, so I rely on sources to do that work for me, hence my use of value line. if I were you, I'd find a family member who's a student, buy a value line subscription for them (this way it's not the professional investor fee of $1200 or something) and use their screener. it's worth the money. I've tried finding a free option, but they all fall short of value line
thanks dude!
I'm gonna DM you. This is gold
there are so many Value Line products. I can't tell which one is the screener. Which one do you use please thebrofessor ?
