Has anyone listed themselves as gay/trans on a college transfer application to have a better shot of being accepted?

This reminds me of a story at some all girls school where one of the girls came out as trans (f to m) and ran for diversity officer and was harassed because she was now a "white male". The entire situation is hilarious.

Logistically, my question is, how do they "prove" someone's sexuality or gender identity? I mean, you could be a bisexual man married to a woman who will never have a sexual encounter with a man for the rest of his life and still be bisexual
