HELP!!! Leverage Finance Placement

Hi guys,

I really need some advice on this because I am totally confused about what to do. I am a full time hire at Lehman Hong Kong and HR just called and asked if I wanted to be placed into leverage finance group.

I searched around WSO and it seems that lev fin does leverage loans and LBOs before the market tanked, at least in the US. However, in the middle of this whole mess, is there going to be any work for this group? What are the exit opportunities like in two or three years - PE and HF in Asia and US?

The other complication is that the position is with LB in HK. Someone commented earlier that lev fin in LB is mostly support work for industry groups. Is that true? And also, how is leverage finance in Asia, considering public equity is so cheap? I haven't heard of many buyouts in Asia and what PE firms are doing in Asia are mostly minority stake deals, but is that going to change?

But also, I think I am really lucky to have a job right now and I really really don't want to upset HR by saying something stupid. If you guys could give me any advice, that would be awesome.

Thanks a lot in advance...
