event driven samples I can think of are DFRG/HPT. For distressed/special sits credit I had to do MGI/UNIT. You can literally pick any company you think is having a hard time right now and do that as a case study or maybe you think there's an event driven angle to some company. Doesn't matter if you actually come up with a recommendation or not, at least you will know how to walk through the cap structure, what to look at, how to value stuff, etc.

 

what's your work flow / process with going through these case studies? does it differ between event-driven and distressed?
