Industry Analysts
When reading papers, magazines, on-line, etc I often read things about different industries from analysts within them. Are theze IB analysts? If not, what exactly do IB analysts..well analyze?
no these are Equity Research Analysts that cover diff industries - often from big i banks or other firms.
those are Equity Research Analysts. IB analysts do a lot of the financial analysis and modeling necessary for getting deals (big corporate transactions) done, in addition to a lot of monkey stuff.
Yes and the ER analysts title indicates much more experience and an "ER associate" is the predecessor in the job ladder, where as it's reversed in banking (IB analyst --> IB associate).
Is it common to move from IB to ER?
