Raymond James ER

Just curious if anyone has some insight into where equity research at Raymond James ranks on the totem pole of ER industry. Is it a good shop to learn the basics and make connections, with the end goal being to eventually move into buy-side PM role?

I'm start at Raymond James ER in June. I obviously can't comment on the work yet, but culture was great in my opinion. Super stoked to start working there. There are a ton of really smart people working in my group (Energy group - Houston).

I did ER at RayJ before moving to the buyside. Strongly recommend it! The culture is great, the analysts are brilliant, and they are all willing to spend time teaching you the process. Sometimes hours can be rough, especially during earnings season, but they respect work/life balance outside of the busy seasons. The teams are all very friendly, and the management genuinely cares about the employees. On the downside, the rough hours can be super rough - 90 hour weeks, some weekends depending on your sector. All in, I don't regret starting my career there.

shadowfx23Well it seems like LinkedIn was a dead end for me. Anyone on here have any connections with Raymond James?

TBH nobody here is gonna give you their connection with Raymond James because their name is at stake looking out for you and they don't even know you from the first place. Start doing your due diligence on Linkedin/company website/fb/google ANYTHING but ask strangers on the internet for their connection
