is PWM really that bad?

I know there are plenty of credit-based PWM internships out there, but i mean not all students do it, so doesnt it add some value in regards to big name onto your resume? Assuming you do some legit work and not cold call all day, doesnt it help?

well you wont be doing much "legit work." Research, some basic investment analysis etc...its a pretty chill internship to have. Not much done but can be a good entry point to the field.

you won't learn to analyze a company or gauge a market like you would at a bank - PWM is largely focused on fulfilling an individual's investment goals; you may look at specific companies, but the bread and butter of the business is picking mutual funds.

you'll know more about the ideal ways to save for retirement and pay for college than you will about investing.
