Junior applying for internships in I-Banking, Consulting, other finance positions

Here it is: http://www.razume.com/documents/13101

This probably sucks, and yeah my GPA is kinda low, product of ORF, grade deflation, and some laziness on my part

go ahead, rip me apart, specifically tell me what I should leave out, or how I should format it differently.

possibly dumbass question: I know some firms (e.g. SIG) might like poker players, should I mention I play? I'm not that good I grind 2/4 so prolly not right.

Get rid of your high school stuff under education. You're a junior; nobody cares how you did in high school anymore. Also, you should round your cumulative gpa to either one or two digits: 3.31 or 3.3.

Hope this helps!

It's all about the work experience, baby. Bring that up top (I'd say right under education) and build it up as much as you can--ie, multiple bullet points for each experience and a lot more detail. IMO the #1 thing banks and consultancies want to see is that you've done good, relevant work in other office settings.

ok I can definitely play up work experience; the reason I included high school experiences were because I thought it made me seem more well rounded in terms of leadership?

Yeah, I'm not sure about the experiences--you may want to see what other people have to say about that, but you should definately remove your high school stuff under education.

And yeah, you should have about three bullets under each piece of work experience. You should also put a space between each work experinece so it's easier to read.

get rid of the objective - everybody knows you want a fucking job as previously mentioned get rid of high school bs and move experience up to under education or awards

Formatting in general is crap, the textwall is unreadable. Make use of right-alignment for dates/location/maybe gpa/etc Look at some of the other resumes here and steal the formatting

Whats wrong with your english?? besides the messed up tenses, "maintain friendly alumni relations by conversing with alum and request(ING?) donations" "coordinated tennis camps for kids or (and?) adults..." experienced with a bloomberg machine? sounds like you can pilot some alien starship..just write experienced with Bloomberg (or Bloomberg Terminal). Also be careful with strong words like 'experienced' and 'proficient' with things like bloomberg/excel/etc or else interviewers can easily pick on you ("Whats the command for swaption pricer? What does HDS tell you?") Throw all your bullets in a trashbin and come up with smth better. be specific and quantify results.

Dont say youll be proficient in C in the future, resume is about your past achievements and current skills. No one, however, will test you in interviews so if you want you can just write Proficient in C and learn it by the time you start the job
