Anyone have working knowledge of these groups? How are they perceived?

Me too
Even I am very curious to know about KPMG'S Economic Valuation Services. Any insight?

In terms of transaction advisory, KPMG is growing aggressively in that unit because business is strong and growing there. Hours are similar to banking hours with lots of travelling, weekends are lighter.
Perception will always lie in the eye of the beholder. It doesn't compare to banking in terms of pay, prestige, etc because you are ultimately just seen as an auditor, just the auditor for an M&A deal. Sometimes, you get stuck doing the crappy due diligence. Thus, lots of folks will eventually leave for banking. Average turnover is about 1-2 years due to hours and pay. However, people are great and understanding.
