New Forum Topics - List Length

Any way we can lengthen the "New forum topics" list on the main page? Members tend to post more often to the new posts on this list than on the forums in the archive because they are visible.

Even going from 5 to 10 would probably be a big help and hopefully answer more questions or provide more advice.

Thanks

...

increased it to 8 topics...don't want to push the FAQs and primates online block too low.

The site will be getting some upgrades over the next few weeks. From Drupal 4.6 to 5.1, slightly different colors, search bar on the home page, links to later pages at the TOP of threads, new logo (maybe name, etc).

I appreciate the suggestions.

Can we get rid of the Monkey

Can we get rid of the Monkey TV thing? I'm not sure how many people find it useful, but I don't. Unless it is a an ad or something..

Monkey TV

...it is an ad (new video trial from Google Adsense) but i thought it had some good stories on it (WSJ.com). I thought some of the users would like to have the audio on in the background while they worked or posted in the forums.

In any event, I'll move it below the Primate online block so it is slightly less prominent on the home page.

Also coming soon (probably not until May or June actually): A finance/news/video blog pertinent to some of the most popular topics that arise on the board.

thanks streetluck.

I've been working hard but you won't see the results for another few weeks.

i wanted to make the site entertaining and informative -- i am honestly amazed at how fast the site has grown and how knowledgeable some of the users are. granted there is still a lot of crap going on and i'm constantly trying to improve it.
