New to WSO-Hello

Hey all,

I'm a rising senior at a non-target looking to break into banking post-graduation. Used to look at this site on and off in my previous undergrad years, but now that I am narrowing down my career paths, it was only natural for me to come back hear and start learning as much as possible. I am already impressed with the amount of extensive knowledge and resources available on here, and I hope many of you would be willing to help out as I go through this last year of undergrad in hopes to land some sort of FT offer afterwards. I know it'll take a lot of work on my own, which is why I came here in the first place, to educate myself! However, it's always appreciated to get some great advice from the experts who have gone through it already. With that said, I look forward to diving into everything that is offered on here.

Knowledge of the industry, whether derived from this website or your own intuition, can only do so much. You need to begin networking as soon as possible. Reach out to alumni, discover family friends, etc; do what you need to do. There's plenty of threads on here with appropriate etiquette when cold e-mailing/calling. I'm not exactly sure how anyone on this website could truly "help out", but definitely take advantage of WSO's resources. Take risks, with mild caution. Just avoid being completely risk-averse. We are at an age where we need to take risks and have high ambition. Simply put, with all that in consideration: don't do anything stupid.
