I'm a sophomore in college currently interning as a loan production intern at a bank. I have a passion for the markets and investing. I have a personal portfolio and recently just participated in my first IPO which was a wicked cool experience. I'm currently studying finance in college and also studying anything i can in my free time. I'm currently reading Graham's the intelligent investor and spentd hours every day on my brokerage account looking at stocks.
I really hope to get an internship this upcoming summer at an investment bank. I think equity research is very interesting. Its very hard to land these internships but I'm determined to put my head down and work hard and hope it pays off. I'm currently learning in my free time how valuations work and am studying how to build DCF models. I currently am invested in about 4 stocks and 2 mutual funds. I firmly beleive the best way to learn investing to invest real money. Its better to make the mistakes trading in my free time now than when in the real world and with a large personal portfolio in my older years.
