No Sir, I do not understand your email.
I am an intern at a VC firm and I do not understand my boss's emails. I am not talking about a particular email- I do not understand any of them. I have to spend like 2 hours trying to decipher what hell he is talking about.
His emails are extremely short since he loves to help the environment by conserve word use. He tries give me a project to work on and I have no clue what he is talking about. I understand you are busy but you can't tell me what to do on 2 week-long assignment using only like 6 words. He also refers to documents that doesn't exist or at least I have no clue what he is referring to.
When I send him a follow up email clarifying, he often responds by telling me to refer to his original message. ME NO UNDERSTAND in the first place!!!
COME ON MAN, GET IT TOGETHER! As a result, I have to sit at 4AM thinking and trying to decipher your da vinci code email in order finish my project.
that's pretty funny
Write him back an email with an explanation as to what you think he is asking of you. That way he can respond with a yes or a no and not feel like he needs to re-explain everything.

That sucks man....but it's hilarious nonetheless!
Find someone more senior that most likely has had to deal with the same bullshit, and learn from them how they dealt with his ineptitude. They should be able to relate and will hopefully give you a few pointers.
I say you stab him to death, then play around with his blood. This will clearly show your co-workers that you don't appreciate shitty email etiquette. Problem solved.
