Question from NYU Stern student applying for summer internship
I have been reading many posts up here and I had a few questions.
I am a junior undergrad at NYU Stern with a 3.43 GPA and 3.64 GPA in Finance and Economics.
I commute 4 hours daily to and from school from New Jersey and am required to take a full credit load every semester to graduate which explains the GPA. Anyway, some of my professors are still late posting grades for Fall semester, so I will probably send out my job applications tomorrow.
I really would like to get a job in IBD or Wealth Management and am concerned that my GPA is not high enough to meet the cutoff for many summer analyst positions. I am going to do whatever I can to get an internship and I was wondering if anyone could provide me with advice on how best to go about applying to these positions or firms I should apply to. Prestige of the firm does not matter much to me, I just really would like the opportunity to learn something at a firm. That is really all I am after.
