Research at Asset Managers

Do most Asset Managers like Blackstone, Black Rock, etc have buy-side research analysts that specialize and cover specific sectors and companies?

From looking around, it seems like most do not have these types of research analysts. It seems like most research is on quantitative strategies.

Don't know about BlackStone

Don't know about BlackStone but asset managers like BlackRock does have people who do nothing but research particular sectors. There's not necessarily a Research department like you would find in an investment banks but you're going to have the research person that reads the news, reports, meets with management and all that jazz.
