Should I wait to hear the headhunter's feedback?

Hi Everyone,

I am working as an in house M&A analyst now and I have built some connections at a Canadian Bank in Toronto.

I know one 3rd year analyst really well and had indirect contact with a MD (My mentor passed my info on to the MD then to the hiring associate but there weren’t any openings in December). I still sent hand written thank you cards to the MD and the associate after.

Recently I spoke to Vlaadco (headhunter) and got my resume passed on to an industry group at the same bank for a potential opening. It’s been a week and it’s still under review.

Do you guys think I should leverage the Analyst and possibly the Associate/MD to also check it out internally for me? I don’t want to backfire or overwhelm the industry group. However I think the MD 's words would help a lot (he lead the industry group from 2001-2008 but is now at a product group)

Thank you in advance for all inputs.
