T3 Trading NYC
Hi guys, I did a search and read everything pertaining to the topic, but would like to see if anyone else has any relevant info.
I was invited to an interview at T3 Trading in NYC this coming Tuesday for a Summer Equity Trader. They say there is a capital contribution - here's the thing. From what I've read, most every prop trading firm that trains new traders require a capital contribution of some sort, so I am not worried about this being a scam and don't mind trading with my own cash.
Can anyone shed some more light on this firm and perhaps provide a few questions that may be asked? Also, I am not familiar with the fees involved so can you provide me with some questions that I could ask them, aside from the basics?
Thanks
There's a thread on this from a while ago, this post received 2 silver bananas and is 100% accurate.
T3 is unequivocally one of the most prestigious prop shops. It was founded by three highly profitable interest rate swaps prop traders from Goldman, and while the firm specializes in discretionary high frequency trading, they are also making the transition to volatility arbitrage, dispersion trading and gamma scalping. The compensation tends to be much higher than Getco and Jane St. across all levels of experience, however they only hire and retain the very best traders.
Come on man, you think I'm stupid? That's clearly a joke, don't waste my time with responses like that.
They require a capital contribution and I'm not so sure how good their training program is or if they even have one. I would work for them if they had a great training program like FNYS or Apex Capital Holdings.
what you can do is look on linkedin, do an advanced search, and in company, put T3, but then on the pull-down under it, put "past not present" and you can see where many of their intern alumns and entry-levels go.
are they using stock photos on the webpage? That's pretty shabby if so. Any real firm would for starters use real office photos. and they usually don't hype themselves out too much about what they do especially about technical details.
Thanks for the responses guys. I will try that linkedin idea; I also may go back to the city over spring break to shadow a trader for a day and spend the rest of my time meeting with school alumni (to make the most out of my trip).
The photos on their site are real; when I visited there, the office was awesome. Glass doors, entire floor dedicated to them and they have amazing views of battery park, the water and the rest of the city behind them. Capital contribution is 5k
