Thank You WSO - Just got offered a summer internship in S&T

Just got offered a summer internship in S&T for a MM firm on there fixed income prop desk.

To give some background info. I come from a non-target and my gpa is 3.0 I also have a slight disability . Over the past two years I have networked like crazy. I sent out and cold emails and cold called firms, and finally got lucky.

I just wanted to thank WSO especially Monty09 and Anthony. This forum has been really helpful and most of the members are really helpful.

Also I just wanted to add don't give up fellow monkeys. The journey can be frustrating and there were many times were I felt like giving up. However there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

If you want it bad enough you will get it.

And last but not least, who ever said cold emailing didn't work was wrong :)

congrats

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

Congrats

...note to self

You have know idea how successful this can be. Along with getting a job offer, when I am in NYC I plan on meeting a well known hedge fund manager (he is worth a couple billion). I met him through cold emailing.

Well executed, man. Bust ass and show them what you've got.
