What to wear
Hi, I emailed an alum whos a senior banker, and he told me to meet up with him at a pub, what should I wear? I was thinking going suit, but not sure if this is a good idea and should I bring my resume along with me?

Dude, wear some slacks and a light blue dress shirt (you're going to a pub). And fuck yes bring your resume!!!
Are you meeting on a weekday? If so, definitely wear a suit. Easy to take off the jacket if you feel overdressed.
And yes, bring your resume.
..
go with the black/navy suit, no tie. put the tie in your breifcase though, just in case its more formal than expected. if you are over dressed, take the jacket off. Always have your resume in a meeting with anyone from somewhere you want to work.
yeah its during the Weekday , its towards the evening, around happy hour.
In that case, agreed with GJones
Thanks for the advice, going go with my black suit, with a white shirt and no tie and bring a messenger bag with my resume.
Personally, I think people look silly with a collared shirt, jacket, and no tie.
OMG thank you for saying this. I think about this at least 10x a day during my commute. People look like absolute wanks when they have a suit on with no tie.
I think people look silly wearing a black suit during work hours, but that's just me (and the majority of people who care about what's appropriate for work).
If you're in Asia it's a different story (where black suits and pink ties are common). But in the US, black suits are generally reserved as funeral and evening wear.
In this situation it probably doesn't matter, although if you're going no tie, why not just wear a blazer and slacks/khakis?
