I had a interview a week and a half ago. I do not have any contact info of the person who interviewed me (phone interview), but just the HRs name and number.
Should I call on HR to check my status? Or wait another week or so?

I would check, unless they gave an indication in the interview or job spec about necessary time frame.
The guy told me "HR handles it from here, so I would not get discouraged if you dont hear back for a week or so".
