WHU Master in Finance

Hi, so I am interested in pursuing a Master in Finance. Can anyone tell me how does WHU stands in comparison to FSFM, IE and Cass. Would you say WHU to be prestigious in Germany?

I am mostly looking to enter IB or PE in Frankfurt/ London. Would WHU be the ideal choice as I know WHU is targeted mostly for IB/ PE. Also do students from WHU break into BB IBD in London?

WHU probably has the best placement into London out of German universities (St Gallen is Swiss). It‘s a good program but it’s definitely easier to break into FFM IB/PE from WHU (including all BBs). You have to be native/C2 fluent German to be able to work in Frankfurt I don’t know if that’s the case.

Thanks for the information. Would you say there are any opportunities in Vallendar so that a WHU student can have a side gig in finance/ IB along with his studies there?

You can work as a student assistant for the different chairs e.g. the Finance chair at WHU. Otherwise you could probably find some remote working student positions given Corona. Vallendar itself does not have any corporates or banks haha

WHU is a very good choice for IB/PE both in Germany and London. Also consider FSFM though, very strong placement in recent years especially in London (GS/MS/JP/BX/CD&R/CP).

For London no doubt at all FSFM only recently really started recruiting for London. In Frankfurt there’s probably not much of a difference but you see a lot of FS students at T3 banks like Raymond James/GCA/Berenberg while most WHU students who are keen on IB eventually end up at BBs. However, Frankfurt and the campus is much better than WHU‘s campus in Vallendar.
