Gavin grew up in upstate New York, earned an economics degree from University of Rochester, and served four years in the Navy before deciding to attend business school. He believes that, while you can’t necessarily “beat” the GMAT, you can dramatically improve your score by familiarizing yourself with the underlying concepts and structure of the exam. Through thoughtful and strategic preparation, he scored in the 99th percentile on his first attempt.
Gavin has been a tutor and mentor for more than five years, in fields ranging from business statistics to career counseling. As a rising second year student at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, he has been selected to mentor first year MBA students during their initial team-based coursework. Gavin has been recognized in both professional and academic settings for being an effective communicator, innovative leader and inspiring teacher. He is unselfish with his time and enjoys helping others achieve their goals.
Gavin will be interning in the Raleigh-Durham area over the summer and hopes to spend his free time traveling, searching for the perfect North Carolina barbeque, and tutoring for the GMAT. You can reach him at [email protected]
