AVP

I applied for an AVP position in Risk Analytics with Deutsche Bank when my grad school notified students of the opening. I was contacted by DB's human resources within two weeks to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was 1-on-1 with a VP in the department. I was asked to explain the falacy of a few Greek paradoxes and what should be done to "correct" the models. I was also asked what types of modeling techniques I have used in the past and how those could be applied in various examples given by the interviewer.

Within 10 days I received another call from human resources to set up a second round phone interview. The second interview was with an AVP in the department and he focused mainly on my work experience and how I was able to relate it to the position I applied for.

Both interviewers seemed very friendly, and really focused on my answers. They did not come across like they were reading some check list of questions, but rather they wanted to have a conversation and to understand my thinking process when presented with unexpected questions.

I was told I would be contacted in another week to discuss 3rd round phone interviews with their manager. If I make it through that, there will be one in-person interview, after which time and offer will be extended to the best candidate.
