Dyer and Blair has come along way to be being accredited as one of the oldest stockbrokers’ in the history of the Nairobi Stock Exchange and a market leader in the Investment Banking industry in Kenya and the greater East African region. Having been founded in the year 1954 as a partnership of stockbrokers, the bank has with it over 50 years of experience.

The bank was originally launched as a partnership of Hickman and Grey and was one of the founding members of the NSE which was established in the same year. In 1965, the company’s ownership changed when Mr. Derek Ingram Dyer and Mr. Patrick Murdoch Blair took over Hickman and Grey and then became Dyer and Blair.

On October 1, 1973, Kenya Commercial Bank limited acquired the partnership of Dyer and Blair and incorporated it into a limited liability company operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of the bank.

In 1983, its ownership changed again when the present ownership acquired the company.
In the future the bank looks into introducing more investment vehicles to cater for both the local and regional markets as well as having regional coverage.

In 2007, the bank officially launched its branch office in Mombasa, Kenya and its Uganda office with the aim of offering world-class service to the Uganda Investors and anyone wishing to with the Uganda Stock Market.

In 2008, the bank also opened a branch office the Westland’s region in Nairobi.

These are some of the developments that the bank has been involved in. later in the year, the bank will be launching unit trusts and other investment vehicles.
