Interview
I met for lunch with the particular traders that I would be primarily supporting, we had a very good discussion about the kinds of fundamental quantitative models that I would be creating and the company's philosophy. I agreed with their philosophy and it I was far and away impressed with their thought process on financial speculative trading, especially compared to ConocoPhillips, which is where I was working at the time. After the informal lunch, I interviewed with the manager of research, the head of trading and the head of the west trade desk. All of them were very cordial, and did not try to ask me any overly difficult technical questions. I explained to them the kinds of projects I had worked on in the past, and they explained to me that if I was able to create trading models that would make money that the company would get behind them in a big way, and I would be rewarded. I had a very good impression overall of all the people I interviewed with and was excited to start the job, it was a good fit.
Interview Questions
What do you think of Technical Analysis?

I said that I didn't believe in blindly accepting traditional technical analysis rules, that I thought you must validate them using data. I said that you have to use scientific method to come up with ways to make money, that there is no easy way due to EMH.
What experience do you have with options?

I had experience with options because I was a Financial Computations and Modeling minor at Rice, and so I had deep experience with options theory from both the sell side and the buy side. In Particular I mentioned that I was interested in calibrating a market implied risk neutral pdf to assess option valuations.
