Interview
I first applied online through my schools career website from which I then received an offer to interview onsite at their office in Newport. The first interview was a group interview with a two senior analysts and the MD which centered around my 'fit' for Northland Securities. I heard back the week after the interview where I was invited to move on to the second part of the interview process which consisted of an analytical assessment. For this part of the interview they gave me a set of instructions to follow and a time limit of one hour. There were questions asking about basic finance and modeling.

After this part of the interview I unfortunately didn't receive an offer back for the third part of the interview because I was lacking the research experience that they were looking for. In other words, they wanted a candidate that would be able to hit the ground running whereas I had very little experience in IB and was looking to further develop my skills with this internship.
