Interview
Pretty simple process overall. Sent email to the recruiting email in October for a co-op to start in spring 2023. Did not expect much because of the presence of NEU (and I do not attend) but I got the interview. After the initial call, only 4 hours later, I got the move along to the superday.
Interview Questions
N/A. The interview questions were just about a run down of the resume and why IB. Because I had a couple of internships they asked me to talk about how those experiences were. Really nothing you should not expect.

- Superday (2 group interviews ~1 hour each with a total of 8 senior bankers)

Read about their recent deals (they publish reports on their website), because you will get asked about recent HC transactions and it is just better to have a Provident deal or two ready to go.

Interview
Position was for summer 2020. Sent my resume, cover letter, and writing sample to HR via email sometime in July/August of 2019.
Accelerated interview process straight to in office interview as a result of prior networking (September 2019)
Two 2 on 1 interviews- was presented with a sample sell side M&A transaction and asked questions about valuation methods, benefits of M&A to shareholders, and some other accounting questions. Was also asked a lot of resume questions as well as what I like to do for fun.
After this I had a phone interview with an associate and was asked more resume questions + discuss a recent deal (this was a week later)
Ended up being rejected about ~1 week after that (email from HR)

Advice: know your resume and technicals as well as why you are interested in the firm specifically + ask good and specific questions about their recent deals and industry reports (they publish them every quarter)
Overall the people I interviewed with in total (3 analysts 2 associates) were very nice and seemed interesting in hearing more about me
Note: this was for sophomore summer
Interview Questions
First question was walk me through your resume
None of the questions were necessarily unexpected: basic technicals like the different valuation methods and their pros and cons, some basic financial accounting questions, as well as deal rationale questions such as why it would make sense for one specific company to buy another (that was the "case study" a healthcare services company established in one reason buying a smaller company of the same service in another US region)
I had heard of some people previously being asked about specific healthcare deals (Aetna-CVS) + questions about Obama care / health care policy / health insurance policy but I did not receive any questions like that
I had interesting experience so I mostly faced resume questions (VC + startup experience).

Interview
Applied through on campus recruiting and received an email the following week. Initial phone screening with HR, then phone call with analyst, then in office interviews.
Interview Questions
The interviews consisted of traditional technical questions (valuation methods, 3 financial statements, depreciation, calculate EBITDA & fcf). The hardest part was a case that they gave about a small regional company being acquired by a large international competitor. They asked questions about why the company might want to sell, what were the potential outcomes of the sale, what was the best way to value the company or transaction, what was the investment banker's role throughout the transaction, why you think the way you do.

Interview
Initial phone screening with an analyst. Basic technicals with financial statements with behavioral questions about my past internship. In office interview one on one style. Small case in office, not too complicated.
Interview Questions
Asked in the in-office interview how a pe firm would value a company looking to be purchased vs how a strategic would value a company. The case was about a small regional company questioning whether or not to sell to a larger national company. Basic formatting. Questions following the case asked how I would value the company, what are benefits of m&a, how would this m&a help/hurt the owners of the smaller company. How would it hurt/help the owners of the national company? Very straightforward and nothing too out of the ordinary.

Interview
Got a phone interview with one of the analyst and then about a week later got a in-person interview with four people from the firm.
Interview Questions
Very difficult problem that had to do with the sale of a asset, mid-year depreciation, and how it flowed through the three statements. Very caught off guard considering the previous questions which were very easy. In the group interview, there is a case study that has you format a company's income statement, and balance sheet in their format. They also included notes and EBITDA items to add into the financials. Not too much was explicit, but they want to see your reasoning. You then present this to the group and they ask you a few more questions. Spent so much time on the case study that I didn't look at previous deals, so got me on that one, but just make sure to talk about their publications and market reports and you'll be good. Also, be able to talk about something in-depth about healthcare, especially how within specialty sub-industries.

I applied online and then someone from business development reached out and asked for a phone call interview. About a week later I was invited to their Boston office for a panel interview in person. This consisted of a case study and more behavioral questions. Finally about a week later I had another phone call interview.
Interview Questions
what are the pros and cons of the main valuation methods? Why Provident? Tell me about yourself. Talk to me about the affordable care act. What are the benefits of mergers and acquisitions?

Referred by alum to apply for an SA opportunity. Overall interview was 30 minutes and consisted of "why banking, why healthcare, run me through a DCF, different ways to value a company" etc. Analyst that interviewed was very stiff and fired off questions rapidly.
Interview Questions
Tell me about recent healthcare m&a trends and if you think it will decline or pick up activity --- what are four ways to value a company -- run me through your resume -- why are you focused on a healthcare specific firm --
