Getting into Maters in Finance after 8 years of working experience in S&T

I'm currently working in one of large major US banks as a FX trader and thinking about going to school again. I've been doing my job for 8 years(VP) already but would like to move to slightly different job - Quantitative Hedge Fund such as AQR or PIMCO(although it's Asset Management firm). I realize that it's quite hard for me to move to that kind of firms as I only have FX experience.

So.. do you think it's good idea to go to study in masters in Finance? (I'm only considering top schools like MIT/Princeton because I know I need very promising name to successfully move.)
or masters in Finance is only good for those who have only 1-3 years of experience?
