GSAM (Goldman) Fundamental Equity -"Sector Lead"

Anyone familiar with Goldman's Asset Management Fundamental Equity strategies and how research departments are organized there? Looking for all and any commentary regarding the team, culture, comp, progression, exits, etc.

How does it all work? Looks like a centralized equity research department, but then there is bifurcation between value and growth teams?

What does the "sector lead" do (says VP level position). Is GSAM generally a good spot for someone transitioning more into the institutional AM / investing world? Coming from fundamental equity research on the buyside previously but at smaller / lesser known shops.
