How to ask for work as an intern
Intern at an asset management firm here and my MD is out of town and completed my project earlier than expected, and have spent the better half of the day scrolling thru here. I have asked for work from direct report, but he is waiting on MD's response and he currently has nothing. Should I ask for work from others in the office not on the team I am on, or should I wait it out?
Added context: Second day, and no other interns at the office.
Don't... stay put and take the time to learn on your own. There really is a lot to learn... from technicals, industries, companies, and etc. Not many MDs or anyone else for that matter will trust you with their work. Not because your bad, but because they barely know you and you presumably have no work experience under your belt which implies a lot whether those implication are true or not.
Give it time. It takes a bit to assign interns work because you have to teach it and give extra lead time in case anything happens.
