Possibility of breaking in?

I know this has been discussed over and over again but I just wanted some advice on what I can be doing over the next month in order to prepare for when recruiting starts. I am currently a sophomore at California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo. My school doesn’t have a that strong of alumni network for high finance jobs other than Big Four Accounting Firms. I did an internship before college at a small Real Estate Private Equity firm and really liked the work but wanted to explore other fields. This past summer I interned at a smaller private wealth management firm with over 3bn in AUM. I spoke to an alumni who’s an analyst at Oaktree and I am very interested in AM, and different alt strategy funds. If anyone has suggestions or advice it would be really appreciated. I know you can make some good money in PWM but I am more interested in directly investing in or for companies at an asset management firm. Anything helps. Thanyou.
