Underpaid or not?

Here's some background on myself:
I am a recent college graduate with three summers worth of financial services internship experience on the buy side and sell side.

I accepted an offer with a buy side asset manager( Upward of 120bn AUM). My position is a junior trader on the equities desk.
My base pay is 65k with ~10% bonus in NYC

Being a recent college grad and eager for experience as a trader, I thought did not have much leverage to negotiate my pay with HR. I was wondering if 65k for this position in NYC is close to the industry's average? I ask this because a good friend of mine, who is a recent college grade, is also employed by an Investment manager in an analyst role is making around 20% more than me.

Should I shut up and be grateful for the experience with the hope of promotion in a few years?
