Where to go from BB AM
Im a junior analyst in an AM arm of a BB. L Recently I’ve recruiters reaching out about mainly IR/strategy roles, which I wasn’t aware was a common exit from AM but a few people on my team have moved to similar roles at HF. It seems to be more sales-y than I’d like, but I also feel I’m at a disadvantage for more investment focused or quant heavy roles given relative lack of modeling/deal experience compared to folks in IB. Would it be a better move to go for an IR role at a HF for the brand name, and try to move internally, or stay put and work toward a PM role at a top AM? What are the other common/preferable options? Wasnt considering moving until recently so I’m mot too sure. Thanks
As long as you don't cover IG fixed income or blue chip equity, you should be fine.
Hi, can I ask about why blue chip eq and FI IG investing may not provide as many exit options?
