Cancelling final round superday at Tier 2 after receiving MBB offer
I had scheduled a final round superday with a Tier 2 firm shortly before finding out I got an offer at an MBB. I don't think there's any reason that I would accept the Tier 2 over MBB because of an array of factors (specialization vs. generalist model, exit opps, etc.). Would it look bad on me or my school if I were to cancel my interview at this point?
Additional context:
-
They said I was confirmed for that day but I have yet to receive a schedule, so not sure if they've already scheduled my interviewers and such.
-
This is the first year they have recruited from my school, and I'm worried that rejecting an interview might hurt their perception of my school.
Just kindly cancel with the message you've accepted another offer. That way someone else has a shot and you don't waste their time
Not sure about your school, but the protocol in ours is that you mention at the end of the interview you have a tentative offer. It’s courteous to take the interview and it reflects poorly on the school otherwise.
