Federal vs. Commercial Consulting - Offer Decisions

Have offers from Accenture/IBM federal (project mgmt) and RSM/Grant Thornton commercial (finance line). Salaries are about the same. Not sure what long-term career goals are, and hearing that switching from federal side to commercial is near impossible. Also not sure about types of work at each company within those specific roles. Commercial firms are much smaller and seems it would be better exposure off the bat, but what are exit opps for both?
