How to maintain networking contacts after the first call/meeting?

I'm currently a sophomore gearing up for joining our university's consulting/IB club and starting doing case prep to apply for junior year internships. I've done calls and met with several alumni that currently work at MBB and those who exited to business school or industry. I always feel like I have nothing to talk to them about after our first call or meeting. What should I talk about to stay in touch with them and hopefully develop a strong enough relationship them to get a referral when the time comes?
