Networking - Follow up to a follow up email, no response

I guess this is a more general question but what do you do when the person you are emailing stops responding?

I spoke with someone at a recruiting event and I sent a follow up email. The response was really enthusiastic and she offered to answer any further questions I may have. I responded a day later with 2 questions (legitimate and unique) and I haven't heard back for about a week now.

I was just wondering, how should I message her now without coming off in the wrong way?

If that email was just to a standard HR person, then that is just a typical HR response so don't read too much into it. I would follow up with quick call.

  1. Introduce yourself and thank her for coming to the event.
  2. Bring up something from the recruiting even so she'll know you were paying attention.
  3. Tell her you realize she's busy and remind her that you sent a few questions to her.
  4. End call politely and professionally.

Thats usually what I do and its usually pretty successful as people hate to be in the position where they look like they've dropped the ball.

POISE: Sting like a bee. Do not float like a butterfly. That's ridiculous.
