Offer process from MBB

Hello,

I'm an experienced professional expecting offers from two MBB firms.

I would appreciate any guidance on the protocol. Typically, I think, an offer is made (verbal or written), I'd take 24 hours to consider and then come back with a reasonable counter - or something like hat? At what stage in the process should I raise a signing bonus? When should I expect a written doc? How is start date established?

Just a heads up, MBB's have pretty strict compensation bands. From salary, to sign-on bonus, to annual bonus, compensation is very structured by tenure. Only variability come in annual bonus, where everyone at the same tenure has the same "target" and the % of target you actually receive is determined by performance (high-performers can receive above 100%)

If you get an offer from MBB and you want to work there, I'd suggest you take the offer as presented

EDIT I see from your profile you're director level, so my above advice probably goes out the window. Leaving it in case future junior monkeys stumble upon it, but if I were you I'd ask around your network how this works at a more senior level. Cheers!
