Big 4 FDD Exit Opps?
Hi all,
I am working within FDD at big 4 in London. I am curious to know what are the common exit opps existing for an analyst once qualified (in the UK it is 3 years). I hear many go to IB, PE, VC etc., however unsure how accurate this is. Is it possible to go to MBB and do strategy consulting, focussing on CDD?
In addition, I will be part of “NewCo”; will this bring any additional benefits to exit opps?
Thank you
bump
Never did FDD, but spent some time as a B4 auditor. FDD -> MM IB is pretty common here in the US. Have several friends who’ve made that jump. Haven’t seen anyone here go straight to PE/VC though
also common in the UK
What roles within MM IB would they be doing? I presume mainly focussed around M&A?
Almost no chance you go to MBB. If you want to do CDDs, best shot is to lateral internally to your firm’s CDD team. Get a year of experience there and then you can shoot for MBB, but you’ll be coming in as a 2nd year at best.
I understand, that would be EY-P in this instance, will enquire about that down the line. Thank you.
London EYP is solid and you’ll easily get a door open to MBB after (or possibly even to LMM PE funds, I know multiple people who have done this from EYP/S&). Imo it’s the smartest step you can make in your position.
Alternative is to try and lateral internally to your M&A team, or join a boutique/MM IB team. They often take B4 FDD professionals, especially if you have ACA.
