Equity Research to Corporate Development?

Hey guys,

I'm an equity analyst covering TMT stocks for a BB in San Francisco (1st year VP) after a stint in management consulting, and I'd really like to make a transition to Corporate Development in LA (in the entertainment industry). I know my background isn't a perfect fit, but am I deluding myself in believing that the transition's possible? Any general advice on how to make the move against former i-bankers?

Don't do it. Corp Dev is literally the most boring 9 to 5 job in the world unless you work at FB or Google.

I promise you I can find much more boring 9 to 5s.

MM IB -> Corporate Development -> Strategic Finance
