Equity Research to Corporate Development?
Hey guys,
I'm an equity analyst covering TMT stocks for a BB in San Francisco (1st year VP) after a stint in management consulting, and I'd really like to make a transition to Corporate Development in LA (in the entertainment industry). I know my background isn't a perfect fit, but am I deluding myself in believing that the transition's possible? Any general advice on how to make the move against former i-bankers?
Would u mind sharing why you wanna do the move?
Thanks!
Don't do it. Corp Dev is literally the most boring 9 to 5 job in the world unless you work at FB or Google.
Care to elaborate? Corp Dev is construed on this board to be the promised land for Corp Fin jobs (high pay, reasonable hours, interesting strategy related work, exposure to upper management, etc). I'm very interested to hear an opposing viewpoint.
I promise you I can find much more boring 9 to 5s.
