So I’m very new to this platform so i have no idea what the hell im doing (literally downloaded this app 5 minutes ago.) Im going to be a sophomore in college this coming Fall at some shitty ass community college because COVID bent me over backwards. Previously I got a $25,000/year scholarship to Pace in NYC. With a 3.1 GPA. Anyway I’m looking to go into corporate banking out of college. I’ve read a ton about IB and how competitive the finance industry is.

I’ve spoken with a few ppl in corporate banking. It isn’t as competitive but any role in these top banks are still hard to get. Top tier students will apply to multiple roles at banks incase they don’t get IB or simply don’t like IB hours. I also come from a non target and discovered IB mid senior late which is too late. However I’ve done a lot of research and talked to numerous people that have broken into IB/BB roles from my school. 1) try your best to transfer schools. Just google top 20/30/50 business schools.

Is Corporate banking competitive like IB?
