Typical Corporate Development Associate Role Interview?
I understand that probably there is a large amount of variance depending on the company you are interviewing with, but I was just curious what I should expect from a mid-round on an interview for a Corporate Development Associate role at a software company. This is really my first kind of interview outside of IB superdays / rounds in the past, so any insight would be greatly appreciated. It's been years since I've interviewed, so definitely trying to shake off the rust and do my best.
1) understanding your background
2) understanding the duties that would be included in the applied role
3) potentially (but unlikely) some easy accounting and valuation questions
4) your feelings on the market that the company is in; key competitors, opportunities, recent consolidation, etc.
5) fit questions
thats basically every Corp Dev interview if I’m being honest
This is it but I’d add that I’ve always had a case or modeling test in every interview. It could be a live verbal case or an offline one or modeling exercise.
Oh of course, good call. Definitely a ton of case studies…
