charles tyrwhitt sizing

so i recently ordered three slim fit shirts from ct, but i am a bit worried after reading some posts on wso about their sizing (i think i should have read this prior to my purchase).

i am 6'2"/230lbs. the shirts i ordered are 16.5/36. on their website, they say the chest size for a shirt like that would be ~45, however after reading previous posts, monkeys have been saying that a ct slim is pretty tight. i wear RL slim fit shirts right now so i had assumed it would be pretty similar, however fear that it may not. are ct slim fit shirts really tight?

in the case that they are not, i guess i can exchange them (what a hassle). i live in nyc; have any of you ordered shirts from ct and then exchanged them at one of their stores?

cheers

If you have the athletic build, slim waist broad shoulders, the slim fit or tailored fit work just fine. There's not much of a difference between slim fit and tailored in my opinion. If you have a big chest, it does tend to be more fitting, but it shouldn't be too tight.

I am the same height, but lower weight by about 25 lbs wearing 16/33. Regular fit were pretty billowy around the chest/waist, but not too bad. The killer was the shoulders. They were way too broad. Exchanged for the slim fit and it seems to work perfectly for me.
