How to deal with job offer anxiety?

I’ve been out of a job since mid 2022. I was a TMT analyst for a PM at a premier equity pod shop. It has been extremely hard to come by opportunities, and I haven’t always been the best candidate in technical and communicative/social skills. Since then I’ve been developing on all fronts and I am confident I am the best professional I have ever been thus far. I have completely “reinvented” myself.
I have reached the end of a sell-side equity strategist recruitment process. I have been thoroughly recommended by my ex-PM, peers at my HF, and peers in the markets overall. I have official confirmation that the last person I talked to absolutely loved me and I’d be in if it depended upon him solely. I have spoken with 5 people total, the 1st being who would be my boss and the technical aspect, the 2nd my boss’ boss, and 3rd through 5th being purely behavioral. Like I said: the 1st person is the one who will decide whether I get the job or not.
I am confident, most I’ve ever been. I’ve been on top of technicals, and I believe that I’ve been in complete sync with the firm’s and team’s values. I think I’ve been energetic, joyful, humble, and hungry.
Can someone please help me with this anxiety? I can barely sleep, barely enjoy life. I am dreading the possibility of a rejection cause I don’t know what else I could’ve done to land the job.

EDIT/UPDATE: HR just contacted me, wants to talk tomorrow about next steps with myself and my “soon-to-be-if-everything-works-out” boss. Super pumped, but until I have the contract signed, I am holding off doing a victory lap. Fingers crossed!

I get where you're coming from. If you can do something about the outcome (which you did, putting your best foot forward), there's no point in worrying. And if you can't do something about the outcome (which at this point, you can't,) there's no point in worrying.

Also remember, not as much hinges on you getting this job as it might seem. If you get it, your life will go back to being a grind and there'll be things that irk you. If you don't get it, just remember your worth and value isn't related to whether you get this job, or what you can do for others. You have intrinsic worth and value independent of all these external circumstances.

One thing I've found helpful is just applying for a bunch of random things (even if you never want to take the job). It can serve as practice, and give you an abundance mentality which helps in the interviews you actually want. And who knows, you might stumble into something unexpected that you find fits better. Setting an open intention may unlock this knot that weighs on you.
