Lee Ainslie did an interview with Graham and Doddsville https://www8.gsb.columbia.edu/valueinvesting/sites/valueinvesting/files/Graham%20%26%20Doddsville%20-%20Issue%2020%20-%20Winter%202014.pdf
.
I interviewed here. I didn't make it very far but the two guys I met were definitely a bit arrogant. But I guess I would be too if I worked there. I got asked a series of brainteasers by one interviewer. That was my experience.
As for their returns, not as good as the other Tiger cubs. But I think that's because they just have not had as much factor exposure to tech as some of the others.
Thanks hominem. Was this for the Dallas office? Are there any investment guys in the NY office?
No, this was for New York. Everyone I have ever met from Maverick was either from New York or San Francisco.
I've met people in their Dallas office, and my understanding is that there are zero (or very few) front office personnel - those were all based in NY/SF.
I haven't heard anything recently so it could have shifted post-COVID, but last I heard Dallas was mostly admin, ops, accounting, valuations/reporting, etc.
...
Can I pm u
My limited interactions with them have been positive - I believe they are somewhat more sector/vertical specialized than most single managers, that could be wrong though.
I am. Dm me
Do you know if they hire for full-time out of undergrad?
Dallas office’s SA positions were only listed on UT’s handshake lol
Performance looks pretty good this year - probably close to high water mark. AUM shrunk over the last decade though as they are more value focused than your average cub. Not sure how much is left today. They used to recruit one level out of banking and another out of PE/MBA. Don’t know if that’s still the case
Any details on performance?
Look at Bloomberg or 13f
Bump. how does Maverick compare to a good MM role for a senior or junior analyst?
Interested as well.
