Running a book...?
Hey,
This is meant for the macro guys, but if anyone else knows feel free to share. What is the basic "outline" for running a book? As in, what does the spreadsheet actually look like? In fact, I would guess most of you use a program that automates it, but if you could explain the basics that would still be appreciated. I mean, for L/S equity it is simple enough, but when fx, options, futures and futures options get added it gets way more complicated.
Might sound strange but I'm curious. I'm starting to juggle a lot of different assets in my PA and I feel like I could be organizing better. If someone wants to PM me a "blank" or filled out book that would be awesome, too. Tried to search for something like this but didn't turn up anything of much use.
Thanks yall.

You should be able to put smth like this together in Excel rather easily.
well, for me, i just asked for an existing spreadsheet from the middle/back office guys that seemed to be the standard use for everyone on the floor.
